ABOUT TERESA MARQUES
I am an established senior executive and educator in the non-profit sector. Since 2016, I have been honoured to serve the Rideau Hall Foundation, a national charitable organization that shines a light on excellence, creates opportunities, and connects communities. The RHF addresses key challenges facing the country in the areas of learning equity, our culture of innovation, leadership development, and the promotion of giving and volunteerism. I have significant experience in people management, partner engagement, grant making for social change, major-gift fundraising and organizational development. I have led teams in the healthcare and post-secondary education sectors, in both Toronto and Ottawa. I am also an instructor and course developer with Toronto Metropolitan University\'s G. Raymond Chang School for Continuing Education and hold degrees in Canadian history from the University of Ottawa and York University, as well as a post-graduate certificate from Dalhousie University’s School of Continuing Education, with a focus on non-profit governance. My volunteer service has focused on community development and education issues and to that end have served on numerous local and national boards of directors. Her current and previous directorships include Philanthropic Foundations of Canada, National Theatre School, AFP Ottawa, Family Services Toronto, and Working Women Community Centre. I am relentless in seeking to drive social change while strengthening the non-profit sector and civil society more broadly.
