About Teresa Shine

I help people solve complex challenges by thinking differently. I combine my skills and experience as a UX Designer, Agile Coach, and Project Manager to help my team and my clients create products and services that improve their customers’ experiences and business goals.Previously I was the Senior Manager of the Agile PMO at Skyword, a tech-enabled agency that focuses on content marketing production and analytics for clients like Samsung, IBM, and MasterCard. Before joining Skyword, I was an IT Project Manager at Highmark’s HM Health Solutions and the four Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh. I’ve combined my passion for art and design with my technical skills to offer web design & digital marketing services for creatives and small business owners through my Shine By Design Creative Studio.

   The DSG Merchandising and Pricing Portfolio supports over 750 internal teammates, including Merchants, Inventory Planners, Pricing Strategists, and Operations Teams. We enable assortment planning, purchasing, and pricing strategies for products from our vendor partners, such as Nike, Adidas, and other brands. We distribute that product data throughout our enterprise, which includes multiple Tech Portfolios, over 800 stores, five distribution centers, eCommerce sites, and mobile apps.Merchandising Team• Lead designer on an inventory optimization initiative. The initiative involves providing in-app recommendations, reports, and insights that utilize machine learning to improve the planning, execution, and allocation of products throughout the DSG enterprise for year-over-year cost savings.• Leading a redesign of Merch Workbench, a suite of 8 applications used by over 500 business teammates to plan and execute assortment plans for buying and allocating products. • Established new product discovery methods and templates to streamline efforts and to provide accurate work breakdown, planning capabilities, and documentation of considerations. Volunteering• Founding member of Women in Tech at DSG. Communications committee lead, providing design support for the WiT SharePoint site and branding materials (3 years).• STEAM Summer Camp planning member and participant (3 years).
