About Teresa Evans

Teresa exudes the rare combination of entrepreneurial energy and urgency coupled with deep strategic thinking. She is highly personable, compassionate and is motivated to promote others\' success through thoughtful and strategic guidance. Currently, she applies these talents to her role as Principal Consultant at TiER1 Performance where she holds multiple roles that leverage her diverse strengths. At TiER1 she leads strategy for the government market as well as for the TiER1 Performance Institute. As an academic professor Teresa has conducted research on anxiety and depression in higher education that has garnered her a publication in Nature Biotechnology and a voice in the movement to promote mental health and wellness in graduate education. She has led the growth of B2B startups as a Partner in a startup accelerator where she supported the development of resources that catalyzed the growth of multiple B2B SaaS companies. Teresa led an independent consulting project that created an action plan to cultivate economic development for the City of San Antonio with a focus on military medicine as well as served as the COO of a Clinical Research Organization focused on promoting military medical research. Further, as COO, Teresa lead a team of over 25 people toward the goal of commercialization of military relevant products in partnership with the DoD. Her academic, entrepreneurial and consulting efforts focus on translation of the interests of various stakeholders, across institutions and the community, into innovative research, business development and strategic initiatives that engage diverse business, academic and government communities. Teresa has her PhD in Neuroscience with a focus on Traumatic Brain Injury and several publications including a book focused on career strategies for STEM professionals (ReSearch: A Career Guide for Scientists). Her passion is to empower those that she works with to achieve their highest potential. Teresa is also a certified Career and Communication Coach. Throughout her career she has mentored and coached hundreds of scientists, entrepreneurs and innovators to achieve their career and professional goals. Action and results coupled with innovation and entrepreneurial drive are words to describe Teresa by those who know her best.
