Upon joining the Battelle team, I quickly learned how important having a positive, mission-focused culture is to the company. I have shared my Army leadership experience to demonstrate how the scientific community can further enhance its culture by incorporating military team-building elements. I have had the opportunity to participate on panels to determine how to best develop and maintain productive cross-functional teams in remote environments.Additionally, I have worked to connect Battelle with Army researchers to accomplish technology transfer, to collaborate on the development of new and innovative solutions, and to advance science in general. The scientific partnership between government and private researchers continues to be essential to solving our nation\'s greatest problems.
