About Teresa Peterson
I am an experienced Patent Agent with a proven track-record of success in developing and managing patent portfolios of all sizes. At Mammoth Biosciences, I worked as a Senior Patent Agent to drive diagnostic and therapeutic patent portfolio strategy. I focused on developing and implementing patent strategies to protect and maximize IP value from invention capture and patent drafting to patent prosecution, portfolio development, and post-grant proceedings. I regularly conducted freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses and competitive landscape analyses to support R&D and business development objectives.Prior to moving in-house, I worked as a Senior Patent Agent in the Palo Alto office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in the Patents and Innovation practice. I focused on patent prosecution and due diligence matters in the fields of medical devices, optics, mechanical devices, and biotechnologies. I have experience with a range of technologies, including CRISPR/Cas-based diagnostics, CRISPR/Cas-based therapeutics, life sciences, biotechnology, protein engineering, drug delivery devices, diagnostic devices, microfluidic devices, interventional cardiology, phototherapy, ablation therapy, denervation therapy, ophthalmic devices, laser eye surgery, ultrasound therapy, surgical access devices, wound and incision closure, orthodontics, orthopedics, minimally invasive surgery, medical imaging, personal care product packaging, manufacturing, healthcare and diagnostic software, telehealth, and mobile health. During my doctoral studies at Harvard, my research focused on understanding the mechanism of action of combined therapeutic inhibition of Angiopoietin-2 and VEGF in pre-clinical murine models of glioblastoma. I found that dual therapy prolonged survival by normalizing tumor vasculature and altering tumor-associated macrophage populations. As part of my doctoral work, I also developed numerous image analysis techniques and managed a common microscope facility.
