ABOUT TERESA MCDERMOTT

I’m a Multifaceted ECE Specialist!I train and manage. I educate and innovate. My love for Training and Managing Early Childhood Professionals runs deep in my core. I am the Teacher’s Teacher. My goal is to ensure that ECE Professionals possess a wide array of skills and strategies to be highly intentional instructors. Much of my training experience has been as an ECE Adjunct working in the Teacher Education sector at Passaic County Community College. My experience has taught me that just as much as children are unique learners so are adults. My approach will harness their success and I’ve made my approach to be like that of a chameleon to help reach the masses.When I was an ECE Instructor I grew through struggle. I hid behind my Education and title while being afraid to seek out help for the concepts I did not understand. I needed that to change in order to become highly effective. I looked around me and saw many like me. This began my journey into creating Educators For Change. A company where I became the Teacher’s Teacher. In management, I build systems. Systems that are driven by a mission or even a dream. I have a keen insight on how to approach and apply administrative systems for organizational purposes. It is driven by purpose and intention. My 22 years in Head Start rewarded me with amazing opportunities to learn. I climbed through the ranks from a teacher assistant to a site manager so I knew and understood every level within the system. This is how I became multifaceted.I fell in love with ECE. It is the foundation of learning. It spans across every major sector of the world. Let’s build the best and brightest instructors who transfer that into the students and families they serve.
