The Family Engagement Specialist(FES) supports families through outreach and consumer education utilizing various strategies, community events, focus groups and meetings. Coordinates several Books Balls & Blocks events throughout the year to help families understand their child’s development and implements developmental screenings. The FES Plans activities designed to facilitate support among parents utilizing the Strengthening Families model and teaches Early Childhood Educators how to implement Strengthening Families 5 Protective Factors into their daily routines in order to help their families build these protective factors to reduce stress and therefore significantly reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. In addition, the FES works closely with other agencies throughout Ocean County to identify community resources, promote public awareness of available services and serves as a resource about community activities and events to other CCR & R staff.
