About Tenisio Seanima
Tenisio Seanima is a Food Justice Advocate whose unwavering passion for creating positive change has earned him the reputation as a service-driven leader across Atlanta, Georgia and beyond. During the past two decades, he has cultivated extensive experience in the arena of sales, leadership, mass media, social activism, and cooperative development. Back in 2008-09, Tenisio resided in Nigeria, working as a radio producer, writer, and engineer, and serving as the red-carpet host of the MTV African Music Awards. By 2010, he embarked upon a career change working as a food justice advocate. Tenisio recently served as the Procurement Associate at The Common Market Georgia. He\'s also the General Manager of Nature\'s Candy Farms, a multi-parcel, urban farm in Greater Atlanta Georgia. His most recent accomplishments are (a) successfully co-facilitating a USDA Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Grant program on behalf of Georgia Organics in partnership with the University of Georgia, and (b) co-authoring the City-Agriculture Plan for the city of East Point, GA. In addition to a B.S. in Green and Sustainable Enterprise Management from the University of Phoenix, Tenisio is Master Gardener Certified, he is trained by the International Organic Inspector\'s Association in the USDA\'s National Organic Program rules for Produce and Livestock, and he is certified in produce safety by the Produce Safety Alliance. He also holds a Third-Class Broadcasting Certificate approved by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission. When he isn’t immersed in his multifaceted career of agriculture and mass media, Tenisio enjoys wild foraging, teaching Egyptian yoga, and even DJing for renowned artists like Seun Kuti, Killer Mike, Darey Art Alade, and others. Above all, he loves his family and the quality time he gets to spend with them. Tenisio is a loving husband and proud father of one beautiful daughter and two amazing sons. In the near future, he aspires to revive his family’s farm, the August Long Estate, which has withstood the test of time for over 135 years.

The Southern SARE program gives producers the opportunity to serve on the Administrative Council and provide a “voice” for the direction of sustainability across the Southern region. Southern SARE’s Administrative Council is the governing body for the SARE program in the Southern region. Made up of 23 members, the Administrative Council, or simply AC, guides the vision of the SARE program, setting goals related to sustainable agriculture, overseeing the review of grant Calls for Proposals, evaluating projects, and being ambassadors for the program.
