About Tekalign T. Debela
With over 10 years of experience in computational materials science, I am passionate about discovering and optimizing new materials for energy and quantum applications. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Associate at University of Oregon, where I use theoretical and computational techniques to model defects in metal-organic frameworks and tune their electronic properties, with a focus on conductive 2D MOFs. I also model water dissociation at metal-oxide-water interfaces to understand the process of proton transfer. Additionally, I am interested in quantum defect modeling for quantum information science.I have published over 40 articles in high-impact journals, such as JACS, ACS Nano, Small, and J. Mater. Chem. A. I collaborate with experimental groups around the world and use a Linux high-performance cluster to conduct advanced computational studies. I am driven by curiosity and innovation, and I seek to contribute to the advancement of science and technology through my research. I enjoy learning new skills and applying them to solve challenging problems. I am also eager to share my knowledge and experience with others and to collaborate with diverse and interdisciplinary teams.
