   With Twilio\'s cloud infrastructure costs rising faster than our revenues, was asked to Co-found and Lead of Twilio\'s Cloud Insights and Optimization team: Building out a FinOps org to reduce AWS costs. Our new team helped to drive down infrastructure EC2 compute/revenue efficiency ratio from 1.2 to 0.7 in 2021.* Unlocked $20MM/yr in savings plan cost savings by performing the merging of Twilio\'s multiple AWS Organizations.* Delivered $6MM/yr of EC2 Compute savings in 2021 by helping product teams optimize their Twilio AWS EC2 usage. Used detective powers to investigate large-scale microservices owned by various product teams, then persuasion powers to convince the Tech Leads of those teams how they are over-provisioning and how to right-size.* Independently identified and delivered an additional $1MM/yr savings in Amazon Kinesis usage. Also independently identified and documented several million dollars more in potential savings across EBS and EC2 instance family savings.* Presented an internal Tech Talk on EC2 right-sizing and unveiled an internal tool and workflow for helping Twilio developers right-size their EC2 instances.* Project Grizzly: In response to Twilio\'s large-scale, Feb 26, 2021 outage, I was pulled-in to help determine what other latent risks could cause massive disruptions to our service. I was asked to do this because the IQ Bot automation which I\'d written in 2016 has successfully alarmed on the issue within 2 mins of the impact start time. My reporting on service-to-service dependencies was used to drive the risk analysis and follow-up actions to de-risk the business.* Facilitated cross-company collaboration between Netflix\'s Reliability Engineering team and Twilio\'s SRE team. Organized several cross-company engineering meetings which were described as \"mini-conferences\". Organized guest Tech Talk from Netflix\'s Reliability Engineering team at Twilio. Facilitated the adoption of Netflix\'s Kayenta Canary Analysis system at Twilio.
