I manage a team of Solutions Architects in the AWS \"Plus\" Team (the dedicated AWS account team that helps Amazon build on AWS) and I still write code every day.That combination is intentional. I believe the best engineering leaders stay close to the craft. Across 11 active projects and 900+ commits, I build bespoke developer tools my team and I actually need: AI agent frameworks, kanban boards, API wrappers, data quality analyzers, and wiki generators. If a task is worth doing twice, it\'s worth automating.I\'m deeply invested in AI-assisted development. As the team\'s \"Kiro Hero\" and consistently one of the top Kiro IDE users at Amazon, I\'ve seen firsthand what happens when builders get the right tools. I deliver workshops to engineering organizations across the company, run Build Club (a biweekly show-and-tell for builders working with AI agents), and provide 1:1 coaching to leaders on integrating AI coding workflows into their teams.Before joining AWS in 2022, I spent eight years in cloud and data consulting — starting as an IC at Piraeus Consulting (embedded at Microsoft), moving into management, then Director roles at Beyondsoft Consulting and 1Strategy (an AWS Premier Partner, later acquired by TEKsystems). Before that, eight formative years at Banner Bank doing everything data-related from the ground up.That arc — customer, partner, builder — shapes how I think about everything. I\'ve sat on every side of the table, and it gives me a perspective I bring to my team every day: build tools that meet people where they are, not where you wish they were.
