This assistantship position is largely focused on academic research. More specifically, I am tasked with identifying and evaluating public policy in-place that supports the development of social enterprises in the U.S. These are businesses that derive a revenue from commercial activities, but whose main focus is to address social issues. This includes extensive literature reviews of published papers, analysis of government legislation (Federal, State, and local), tax policy, oversight issues, procurement and financing options. This work is being conducted under tutelage of Professor Alan J. Abramson, who has already authored/co-authored numerous books and articles in the field of Nonprofit Management, Philanthropy, Social enterprise, and Policy.
