Lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers/Technicians; • Determine and coordinate engineering and project schedules to ensure production & productivity targets are met. • Provide technical expertise for manufacturability, product cost, workflow, quality & safety. • Co-create the Policy Deployment targets and the tasks to support the achievement of the Operations goals. • Evaluate design proposals from within & outside the engineering group for manufacturing feasibility, functionality and applicability using the Manufacturing bridge. • Monitor quality of engineering drawings, BOM’s, & routers. • Prepare, gain approval & maintain capital equipment & expense budgets to support growth & productivity improvements. • Develop projects for inclusion in capital budgets & manage those projects to target date completion & within budget. • Oversee tool maintenance, development of new tooling, & coordination of tooling vendors. • Bring customers into the Plant to demonstrate real-time implementation of CT=TT. • Support a culture of Continuous Improvement (CI) & continuously demonstrate a want for the Lean Tools through active use of: o Standard Work o Single Piece Flow o Visual Management/ Controls o Pull Systems o 5 Why and Real Time Problem Solving o Percent Load Charts o Kaizens • Deploys manufacturing engineering resources to provide efficient process routings, machine programs, tooling, tool design, & fixtures. • Responsible for the creation & management of process controls for the creation of standard work, routings, CNC programming, tooling & fixturing. • Initiate, support, participate & lead lean manufacturing efforts & focused Kaizen events. • Create & develop a Top 1% team by hiring, coaching, awarding & managing employees through the use of the Hiring & Performance Excellence Processes. • Instill discipline & a sense of urgency for real time problem resolution to identify & eliminate problems so they don’t repeat in the future.
