As the creative lead for the newly-established Yahoo News Visuals team, I managed a new team of ~20 FTEs and contractors, comprised of art directors, web developers, animators, data artists, illustrators, designers, and project managers. We refreshed the visual aesthetic for the Yahoo News brand and created a corresponding interactive style guide; created award-winning interactive microsites end-to-end; executed a comprehensive overhaul of the brand’s social media channels; led the visual overhaul of Yahoo’s newsletter properties; collaborated with Product on new UI/UX and visual widgets as part of hompeage refresh efforts; and fielded hundreds of photo, illustration, and design requests weekly in service of Yahoo’s 1P News, Entertainment, and Lifestyle content.
