   I am the \"Technical Owner\" for the GDI AppDynamics Instrumentation Team which is one of 6 Splunk (Acquired by Cisco) GDI \"Value Streams\" which belong to the Splunk Observability Cloud (O11y Cloud) platform which is an Open Telemetry Ingestion Platform which processes OTEL MELT Signals in the Cloud providing Performance Insight.My job involves the \"Consolidation\" of instrumentation between both the AppDynamics Legacy APM Agents and the Splunk APM Agents (which consists of the OSS Open Telemetry Agent and Extensions specific to Splunk)- this consolidation consists of major languages such as Java.NET, Node Js, Python, etc. In this role I work with 3 of the founders for Open Telemetry as well as other technologies such as eBPF for instrumentation in the Linux OS and Kubernetes Clusters.In addition to that, I am also the Lead Engineer for both the Legacy APM and OTEL Agent flavors of the Cisco Secure Application product line (CSA) which I designed and built in 2021 - with today close to 300 customers and several million Agents - as part of that I will play an instrumental role in the integration of this OTEL Agent with several backend modules (some AI and Machine Learning based) for BRO (Business Risk Observability) currently being integrated into the Splunk Observability Cloud Platform.Beyond that - I play a consulting role as a SME helping other Cisco Business Units such as Thousand Eyes, Networking, and Security migrate/extend their observability capabilities from internal proprietary metrics/dashboards to standardize on using Open Telemetry MELT signaling with the Splunk Observability Cloud.Last - I am transitioning my role as the Observability Patent Chairman inside Cisco over to Splunk which the committee will be merged with Splunk and under their leadership. Beyond the Chair position I will continue to develop IP around Open Telemetry and Observability where I currently have over 20 patents currently filed with several already granted.
