Research data scientist based in Germany. Started in the lab and remain happiest collaborating closely with the people generating the data. Transitioned to bioinformatics in 2005 and worked on RNA secondary structure prediction, genome assembly and annotation from short- and long-read data, metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, comparative genomics, deep-time phylogenetics, genome graphs, RNA expression, DNA methylation, regulatory networks, and single-cell RNA-Seq. Switched to a role focused more on applied machine learning for various use-cases in 2022. Currently learning more about using for LLMs and cloud deployment.
