Manage the bulk electrical system (BES) of the state of Georgia and its interconnections with external entities within GA and in South Carolina, Tennesse, Alabama, and Florida- Study outages on the transmission grid using N-1 contingency analysis for various system conditions, by checking for conflicts to ensure the reliability of the grid and then finding and applying to the necessary solutions to prevent conditions such as generation islanding, ground faults, thermal violations due to overcurrent, cascaded outages, voltage collapses etc- Approve outages for maintenance on transmission equipment such as relays, transformer banks, power circuit breakers, switches etc- Build study models of the transmission grid that mirror real-time system conditions for analysis- Coordinate with external utilites on maintenance outages, and capital projects.
