The Arizona Sustainability Alliance (AZSA) is a group that recognizes sustainability as the core of continued improvement of the lives of Arizonans and the protection of the state’s natural resources. The mission of AZSA is to create and support cutting-edge, project-based sustainability solutions in Arizona. As the Food Systems Priority Lead, my role has included- Instituting an organizational strategy for the priority to enhance mission and guide future project development- Coordinating over 50 volunteers and overseeing monthly meeting to support project creation and development- Managing multiple food systems projects and raising money through grant and donor funding to support the various programs.Current projects include- Sow It Forward Vertical Garden Project- Funded by CVS, ASU, and private donations, the project entails installing and helping to maintain 18 gardens mainly in the Fowler Elementary School District to support food education and promote equitable food Tech For The Future: Growing Digital Farmers- Funded by Microsoft, this project aims to work with the local high schools to implement food computer programs that will promote education and interest in food technology, agriculture, and sustainability using personally-developed curriculum-Help-A-Farm- A monthly project that gathers volunteers to donate community labor to support small-scale farms and promote education and awareness regarding the local food system
