ABOUT TIM ALBRIGHT
2020-21 was a tragic period in many ways and for so many people. For me, the inequities it highlighted have been deeply disturbing. So, after twenty-plus years in high tech, I\'ve made a career change.In June 2023 I completed my Masters of Teaching Arts in the NYU Teacher Residency program. The Residency included the normal course work combined with an intensive, full-year immersion in an underserved classroom. I co-taught Global History and Black History with a mentor teacher in Williamsbuirg, Brooklyn. While I learned a great deal, I\'m very excited to create my own classroom experience and learn from the wide variety of students at the HS of World Cultures.I also hold degrees in English Literature and the Classics, and I am a trained anthropologist and art historian who focused on pre-Columbian art, architecture, language, and writing systems. My former graduate field work focused on the living ancestors of Maya and Mixtec Indians in Mexico and Central America. I live in New York City with my wife, Julie, and enjoy art, architecture, history, theater, culture, and food & wine.
