About Teagan Brown
Hi there!I\'m sure you already saw my name and where I work, but I\'ll introduce myself anyways. My name is Teagan Brown and I have the privilege of serving as the Sports Director at WMBF News in Myrtle Beach, SC.My life in Myrtle Beach started when I was hired as a news MMJ/weekend sports anchor, but I was promoted about a year and a half into the job. The majority of my broadcasting background is actually in news, but my senior year at Syracuse was when I realized the dream was to work in sports. Now I\'m living that dream covering Coastal Carolina, Clemson, South Carolina, and plenty of high school teams in the Palmetto state. My biggest passion in this industry is covering adaptive sports and the teams and organizations making sports possible for everyone. While awards are never my goal, I\'m proud to have won RTDNAC Sports Anchor of the Year in 2024, RTDNAC 2nd place for Sports Reporting (Adaptive Golf in Myrtle Beach), NYSBA Best Outstanding Social Media Personality in 2022 and 2023, as well as several NYSBA awards for political reporting during my time at Syracuse. I\'m a big believer in work-life balance and having a passion outside of this industry. In my free time I perform in local theatre productions that allow me to connect with both my community and myself (viewers walk up to me after every show to talk about my double life as a sports anchor and an actress) I also became heavily involved with pageantry after moving to SC. I competed in Mis South Carolina 2025 (America System) and placed top 10 in my first ever state pageant experience. I also received the \'Voices of the Future in Politics and Communications\' scholarship which is one of the biggest scholarships in the competition. In my local title (Miss Grand Strand) I started \"The Posibilities Playbook\' which promotes the support and creation of adaptive sports groups.
