ABOUT T. DALTON COMBS
I turn frontier research into shipped products. Neuroscientist‑turned‑founder and product leader building 0–1 AI systems.Co‑founded Jasmine (YC S22): three enterprise AI products from scratch; scaled to $2M+ revenue.Previously founded and sold Boundless Mind; led behavioral science at Thrive Global; built and scaled Temper; author of Digital Behavioral Design.Builder at the edge of AI. I’ve spent my career translating nascent capabilities into products people and enterprises actually use. At Jasmine, I led product for three systems that make complex energy workflows legible and actionable: multimodal document intelligence for risk management, utility‑scale portfolio auditing, and a climate asset platform with verifiable provenance. We grounded answers in primary sources via tool‑calling LLM copilots and knowledge‑graph context, wrapped in human‑in‑the‑loop review for precision. Used by top climate brokers and customers including Crusoe Energy and Georgia Power. Before that, I built Temper, an AI‑augmented coaching product that grew to $100k MRR, and ran research‑to‑product at Thrive Global, where I designed the domain model and core UX for a behavior‑change platform available to millions of Walmart associates. Earlier, I co‑founded Boundless Mind (acquired), operationalizing neuroscience and ML into a B2B behavior engine (1M+ MAUs) and a widely covered consumer app, and led the acquisition process end‑to‑end.🧠 My time as a researcher shapes how I design systems; but it\'s more than methodology. Studying how humans actually decide gave me a conviction: the highest-leverage AI isn\'t the kind that replaces human judgment, but the kind that sees human cognition clearly and extends it. Build the right primitives, make complexity legible, keep humans in the loop not as a safety check but because that\'s where the value is. I work best where the brief is ambiguous, the stakes are high, and the path to product isn\'t obvious. I\'m happiest owning the roadmap from whiteboard to revenue with customers in the loop.Focus: 0–1 AI product development in complex verticals (coding tools, document intelligence, enterprise workflows, healthcare); LLM architecture (retrieval/RAG, tool calling, knowledge graphs, evaluation + HITL, productionization). San Francisco, on‑site/hybrid.
