Idaho Falls, ID, US

Leading a team on corrosion resistance and microstructure evolution of reduced activated ferritic-martensitic steels in high-temperature liquid metal environments, part of a $107 million award. Collaborating with a team to conduct processing-to-performance relationship program on additively manufactured (AM) stainless steel (SS) 316 in high-temperature and corrosive environments. Aimed at developing material qualification standards for employing AM alloys in advanced nuclear reactors. Produced 1 peer-reviewed publication and 2 reports. Managing a 1-year high-risk/high-reward internal award to employ amorphous semiconductor GaN on high-temperature alloys Hastelloy N and C-276, incorporating solid state physics and electrochemistry, valued at Completed a 1-year evaluation of the evolution of hydrogen gas generation from Al1100 cladding oxidation under high-temperature, irradiated, aqueous environments. Produced 1 peer-reviewed publication. Led a 3-year property-to-performance relationship program, correlating structural phase transformations to corrosion resiliency in high-temperature Ni-based alloys, Hastelloy C-22/N and Alloy 625, valued at $1.5 million. Resulted in 1 peer-reviewed publication. Executed a 3-year property-to-performance relationship program correlating impurity concentrations to the corrosion resiliency of Ni-based high-temperature alloys Hastelloy N, valued at $3.8 million.Mentored 2 undergraduate students, 4 graduate students, and 2 postdoctoral researchers
