ABOUT TARA BEITER-FLUHR

I have held various roles managing sales, use, telecommunication, GST/PST, and other indirect taxes as well as property taxes. I oversaw all sales and telecom tax billing for a major telecommunication provider. I project-managed several large-scale IT tax billing system enhancements and integrations. I also managed a small team responsible for use tax review, exemption certificate maintenance, and tax account reconciliations. I have managed a broad range of indirect tax responsibilities, among them U.S. compliance, audit management, process and system improvements, voluntary disclosures, and Canadian taxes. I became Mayor of Sheridan in December 2017. I represent the City and the Council on intergovernmental organizations like the Metro Mayors Caucus as well as the performing the functions you might expect, like ribbon-cuttings, running meetings, teaching kids about government, and building homes with other mayors for Habitat (photo above).I enjoy succeeding along with a team, training and mentoring others, and finding new and efficient ways to automate and streamline processes.I completed an MBA and MS in Accounting in 2008 and became a CPA in 2010.
