ABOUT MUATAZ MAMARI
a PhD candidate at Heriot‑Watt University, focused on advancing low net‑carbon oil recovery and the energy transition by addressing displacement instability in reservoirs. My research investigates the challenges of achieving smooth, consistent fluid flow during enhanced oil recovery, aiming to maximise oil recovery while reducing carbon emissions. I employ life cycle assessment and energy analysis to evaluate both performance and environmental impact. I hold an MSc in Reservoir Evaluation and Management from Heriot‑Watt University and a Bachelor\'s degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Colorado State University. My doctoral work involves developing detailed three‑dimensional reservoir models and exploring low salinity techniques to stabilise fluid displacement, building on a strong foundation in reservoir modeling and EOR strategies.
