ABOUT TAYLOR SZUBERT

I have always had a passion for science and technology and with growing environmental concerns over the past few decades, specifically pertaining to water availability and quality, I am interested in forward-thinking sustainable innovation in these areas. In my endeavour to learn the skills required for such progress, I am presently studying Water Resources Engineering as a Co-op student at the University of Guelph. I held a co-op position as a Small Drinking Water Management Assistant with PWBS where I had the opportunity to manage the annual lead sampling requirements for over 100 of the company’s clients, including planning, scheduling, and document management. I also gained exposure to purchasing and inventory management, as well as quoting projects for the purposes of bidding. I also spent time in a co-op as a Lab Attendant with the Soil and Nutrient Team of the Laboratory Services Division at the University of Guelph and gained exposure to sample preparation, analysis, and disposal of thousands of client soil and manure samples. I worked on the installation and verification of three new testing methods to be used for a large soil health project and co-created multiple documents and electronic worksheets. Through my engineering degree thus far I have improved my analytical and technical documentation skills and I am hoping to keep developing the same, as well as learn new skills pertaining to Water Resources Engineering, particularly in the areas of Water Treatment, Water Quality, and Consulting, through future courses and industry experience.
