Voices of Rwanda is dedicated to filming and preserving testimonies of genocide survivors of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Since 2004, we have worked to film, preserve, and share these voices to ensure that their stories inform the world about genocide. To date, Voices of Rwanda is the largest body of video testimony material to come out of Rwanda. Testimonies have been viewed across hundreds of schools, universities, and institutions worldwide including Yale University, UNESCO, and the UN. VOR has curated museum exhibits across Europe (including Memorial de la Shoah and the Center of Oradour Sur Glane). VOR has also shared testimonies at commemoration events; and published translated testimonies with Oxford University Press and other news and journalism outlets. In addition to partnering with genocide focused human rights organizations including the Stanley Foundation, STAND, and WITNESS, in conversations that include Rwanda as well as other genocides, in 2015 VOR launched Voices of Yezidi to catalyze support and establish in partnership with Yazda, a Yezidi-led documentation initiative of the 2014 genocide against the Yezidi by ISIS in N. Iraq/Kurdistan. In 2018, VOR\'s director began working with Rosette Royale on filming oral histories of survivors of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in communities of color across the Puget Sound. This work is now being supported by TheAMP and the City of Seattle.
