2d Lt Taylor J. Ferry is a public affairs officer at 75th Air Base Wing, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. 2d Lt Ferry works with the social media section, providing support to the wing commander and command chief with speech writing and event coverage, and supporting other PA special events.2d Lt Ferry started his military career by enlisting in the U.S. Army in June of 2011. He completed the avionics mechanic qualification course at Fort Eustis, Virginia in March of 2012. 2d Lt Ferry served 6 years as an active duty soldier. He was stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska and Fort Hood, Texas and has deployed to support Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Atlantic Resolve.Upon completion of his enlistment, 2d Lt Ferry enrolled at Texas Christian University to complete his degree. There, he enrolled in Air Force ROTC Detachment 845. He graduated in May of 2020, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a commission as a 2d Lt in the U.S. Air Force. Hill Air Force is 2d Lt Ferry’s first duty station as an Air Force officer.2d Lt Ferry’s most noteworthy assignment is his deployment to Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2014 where he logged over 2,800 maintenance hours on UH-60 Black Hawk and CH-47 Chinook helicopters. Most notably, his technical expertise and leadership allowed him to make countless quick fixes on MEDEVAC helicopters, allowing them to continue their mission and save lives. 2d Lt Ferry also deployed to Storck Barracks, Germany, in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. As a section leader, he led 2 NCOs and 12 soldiers in support of Exercise Anakonda 2016, a Polish-led, multinational exercise involving over soldiers from over 20 nations.
