I got into economics at BYU thinking I wanted to get a PhD and potentially teach, because I love the critical thinking involved; breaking settings and relationships down to base assumptions and independent/dependent variables. Then a C+ in multi-variate calculus and mathematical proofs indicated to me that maybe a PhD wasn\'t the best idea.Then I jumped into the startup trend, and loved the fast pace, the creativity, the always-changing nature of the tech world. I got responsibilities way beyond my experience and, at times, carried the weight of the company\'s future on my shoulders.After a few different roles in a handful of industries, I\'m settling back into commercial real estate, both in the way of multifamily proptech sales as well as building a firm dedicated toward residential investment and development in sub saharan Africa.
