Hi, I’m Taylor Heywood, born and raised in Arizona. My journey into physical therapy began with a lifelong love for movement that started on the basketball court in fifth grade. In high school, I deepened that interest by interning under the head athletic trainer, where I gained early exposure to injury prevention, rehabilitation, and the impact of skilled care on performance.At Brigham Young University, I earned dual degrees in Exercise Science and Spanish Studies. Between my studies, I served as a missionary in Nashville, Tennessee, where I became fluent in Spanish while serving and teaching primarily Spanish-speaking communities. That experience showed me how essential clear, empathetic communication is in healthcare and inspired my commitment to culturally responsive care.Now, I’m completing my Doctor of Physical Therapy at Northern Arizona University–Phoenix Biomedical Campus, where I’ve strengthened my interests in orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, and neurorehabilitation. I’m passionate about combining evidence-based practice, research, and patient education to help people move better and live fuller lives.
