About Taylor Bland
With a background in psychology and social welfare and justice from Marquette University and a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in specialized instruction from Johns Hopkins University, I have transitioned into fulfilling work as an executive function coach and business owner at B-Empowered Executive Function Coaching & Consulting LLC.As an executive function coach, I work with children, adults and college students seeking to enhance their skills in planning, organization, self-advocacy, effective communication, and more—all with the goal of fostering growth as self-confident problem solvers and proactive individuals (in the way they see fit!).When I am not coaching, I spend my time writing and connecting with nature. My work has been published in various literary magazines and texts, including Pink Slip Zine, So To Speak, Open Sewers, and the Timberline Review. Recently, I was honored as the editor’s final-round pick in Plenitudes’ 2024 Poetry Prize for my poem, “Just Like It Had Before.”As a business owner, executive function coach, educator, consultant, and published writer, I remain committed to advancing educational equity and increasing awareness of the often-overlooked subject of executive functioning in classrooms and workplaces. Simultaneously, I strive to expand my experiences in storytelling, research, social justice, mindfulness in protecting our natural world, and fostering community-centered sustainable holistic care.
