ABOUT TAYLONEEI JACKSON

Tayloneei Jackson is a dedicated Reproductive Justice Advocate, Speaker, and Sexual Health Educator with 6+ years of experience. She is also the Co-Founder of Melanin & Medicine, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to supporting Black pre-medical students. A proud UCLA Alumna, Tayloneei graduated with highest departmental honors with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Society with a minor in Global Health on the pre-medical track. Passionate about health equity and social justice, Tayloneei focuses on sexual health education and reproductive justice for marginalized communities, particularly Black American, African, and Caribbean populations. Her work aims to implement equitable models of healthcare, ensuring that marginalized and minority communities have the resources and education needed to live healthier lives. Tayloneei sits on boards and advisory councils for the San Fernando Valley African American Infant and Maternal Mortality Prevention Initiative Working Group, Melanin & Medicine Board of Directors, and represents her region as the Pre-Medical Representative for the National Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS). During her tenure as Student Wellness Commissioner at UCLA, Tayloneei sat on various campus committees, including the Semel Healthy Campus Initiative Steering Committee, COVID-19 Task Force, Campus Safety Alliance, Wellness on Campus, and Community Coordinated Response Team. Currently, in her gap years as a pre-medical student, Tayloneei is preparing for a future career as a physician. She continues to seek opportunities to build upon her skills in the intersection of Black reproductive experiences and environmental injustices like toxic chemical exposures. She plans to expand on her leadership, patient care, and advocacy to make healthcare more inclusive and just for those historically harmed by the medical-industrial complex. “Medicine should be viewed as social justice work in a world that is so sick and so riven by inequities.” - Dr. Paul Farmer
