ABOUT TAYFUN CAN
I am a P.Eng. Electrical Engineer and PMP®-certified Project Manager based in Ontario, Canada, with over 10 years of experience delivering industrial and pharmaceutical/biotech projects. My work focuses on control systems design, functional safety engineering (ISO 13849 / IEC 62061), and high-voltage power distribution. I design electrical panels, size VFDs and motor starters, and lead projects from early design through to final commissioning and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). I have worked on 50+ projects in Canada and Turkey, across sectors including pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotech, heavy industry, and infrastructure. I am comfortable reading P & ID drawings, performing SIL/PLr risk assessments, and making sure every design meets CSA electrical codes and international safety standards.Beyond technical work, I enjoy leading teams, mentoring engineers, and helping projects stay on time and within budget. I currently also serve as a Director at SOTEAC (Society of Turkish Engineers and Architects in Canada), supporting engineering professionals in building their careers in Canada.
