SKILLS
ABOUT TAWSIF RAHMAN
My research focuses on the production of biofuels through catalytic thermochemical conversion technologies, specifically pyrolysis and hydrothermal liquefaction techniques. I have developed extensive expertise in synthesizing biofuels and value-added products using batch and continuous reactors of varying capacities, utilizing diverse feedstocks including algae, plastic polymers, food waste, lignocellulosic biomass, energy crops, coals, and industrial waste. In addition to biofuel synthesis, my work involves heterogeneous catalysis, utilizing modified red mud and mono- and bimetallic catalysts on various supports, including red mud and biochar. I engage in liquid-liquid extraction methods for biofuel recovery and employ downstream processing techniques such as hydrotreatment and distillation. My research also includes the synthesis of bio-based composites utilizing bio-oil, plastic upcycling initiatives, and the development and application of biochar, as well as scaling up processes.I have gained professional experience in three countries across multiple disciplines, including renewable energy, green technology, and waste processing. I value collaboration with diverse individuals and am committed to fostering inspiration and appreciation within teams.
