ABOUT TAWNYA HILDABRAND WILSON
I am a research geologist in the Energy Geology Group at the Arizona Geological Survey at the University of Arizona. We identify and characterize energy-related resources and storage in the subsurface. Some of these resources include deep saline groundwater, bedded salt deposits, reservoirs suitable for carbon dioxide sequestration and mineralization, pore space for hydrogen and other gas storage, oil and gas reservoirs, and more recently geothermal energy. My expertise lies in basin and borehole analysis, stratigraphy and sedimentology, petroleum geology and subsurface geologic mapping. My research interests include geothermal exploration, basin evolution, paleoclimatology, and hydrogeology.
