ABOUT TATIANA BAZZICHELLI

I founded the Disruption Network Lab in 2014, where I lead the public events programme and research the annual themes. My work focuses on hacktivism, network culture, art and whistleblowing. From 2011 to 2014, I was a curator at the transmediale art & digital culture festival, where I developed the year-round programme reSource transmedial culture Berlin and curated several conference events, workshops and installations. From 2019 to 2021, I was appointed as a jury member for the Capital Cultural Fund of the Federal Government and Berlin, and in 20••••23 as a jury member for KulturLichter, German Prize for Cultural Education, an award for digital cultural education of the Federal Government. I was a member of the 2020 Anti-Corruption Award Committee of Transparency International. From 20••••14 I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Digital Cultures, Leuphana University Lüneburg. I received my Ph.D. in Information and Media Studies from the Faculty of Arts, Aarhus University in 2011. My dissertation,\"Networked Disruption: Rethinking Oppositions in Art, Hacktivism and the Business of Social Networking\" was the result of my visiting scholarship at Stanford University\'s H-STAR Institute in 2009. I wrote the book \"Networking: The Net as Artwork\"(2006), edited \"Whistleblowing for Change: Exposing Systems of Power and Injustice\"(2021) and \"Disrupting Business: Art and Activism in Times of Financial Crisis\"(2013). I have taught courses on whistleblowing, hacktivism, art and digital culture at many institutions, including as a visiting lecturer at the Department of Cultural Practice at Potsdam University of Applied Sciences (FHP) in 20••••17. I curated the exhibitions SAMIZDATA (NOME Gallery, 2015), Networked Disruption (Škuc Gallery, 2015), HACK.Fem.EAST (Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien, 2008), HACKmit!(MACHmit! Museum, 2007) and Hack.it.art (Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien, 2005).Active in the Italian hacker scene since the 90s, I initiated the networking project AHA:Activism-Hacking Artivism, which won an Honorary Mention for Digital Communities at Ars Electronica 2007. Awarded \"Italian of the Year 2014\" by the Italian Embassy, the Italian Cultural Institute and ComItEs in Berlin, I was born in Rome and have been living in Berlin since 2003.
