ABOUT TATE FUNG

Highly dedicated to personal and professional growth I have built huge resilience through taking on challenges that require perseverance and adaptability. Energised through learning academically and professionally, I am excited to apply my knowledge and gain hands-on experience in my placement year at New Balance. Passionate about meeting new people, I look forward to expanding my network digitally and in person. Working on group projects, individual work, team sports, and part-time work in hospitality has enhanced my creative thinking, and ability to perform in high-pressure environments that require effective time-management and teamwork for maximised outputs. This has been evident in multiple 5-star reviews, first-class grades in all assignments, and promotions to leadership roles. An abundance of experience and transferable skills for a professional environment has been developed throughout the past 3 years during my part-time work and my most recent business start-up. Taking on my first two years and university while being a Barista has improved my multitasking and time management by handling multiple orders and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Working as a Waiter has strengthened communication skills by interacting with a diverse range of customers and resolving inquiries or issues with empathy and diplomacy. Additionally, working Front of House had taught me the importance of using active listening for effective problem-solving and decision-making skills. This was practiced by managing customer requests, handling complaints, and adjusting to real-time challenges. Being promoted to Service Manager opened new opportunities to take on leadership roles such as effectively delegating tasks to the team, successfully onboarding new starters and maintaining a positive work environment.
