Tashanea Whitlow is an Emmy-awarded anchor for \'Good Day Wake Up\' on Fox-owned New York station WNYW, where she shares the morning desk with Dan Bowens. Her role encompasses co-anchoring the weekday morning show from 4:30 to 7 a.m. and reporting for \'Good Day New York\' from 7 to 10 a.m.Prior to her position at WNYW, Tashanea Whitlow served as a national day-side anchor at the Black News Channel (BNC). During her time there, she expertly anchored three hours of live scripted news each day, conducting interviews with notable figures such as Dr. Anthony Fauci and Georgia Congressman Rev. Raphael Warnock. Tashanea skillfully balanced her unique personality with professionalism, demonstrating her ability to ask tough questions when necessary, all while handling breaking news with precision.She is a dedicated journalist with a sharp instinct for news. Previously, contributing significantly to the success of the news team at CBS Boston as a general reporter.Throughout her career, Tashanea has covered a wide range of news specials and entertainment events, including her Fox 5 special,\"Health, Hope, and Happiness: The Black Woman Experience,\" which highlighted health disparities impacting Black women in the U.S. She has also danced with the Radio City Rockettes, reported on the deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, covered the historic indictment of former President Donald Trump, delved into the Coronavirus pandemic\'s impact on Black and Brown communities, and reported on the riots and racial reckoning following the tragic death of George Floyd.Beyond her reporting responsibilities, Tashanea is a highly sought-after public speaker. She had the honor of serving as the announcer for the Boston Marathon for two consecutive years, motivating thousands of runners before the pandemic led to the event\'s cancellation for the first time in 124 years. Additionally, she has hosted events for grassroots organizations committed to addressing critical issues within the Tri-State and Northeast regions, offering essential resources such as food, housing assistance, and employment services. Most recently, she delivered the 2023 Commencement Speech at Roxbury Community College, inspiring graduates with the message that success is determined by the journey, not just the destination.Tashanea Whitlow holds a bachelor\'s degree from Emerson College. She actively contributes to Roxbury Community College\'s Broadcast Media Technology board, playing a pivotal role in implementing initiatives aimed at reaching students of color with a passion for media.
