About Taryn Smith

I grew up on the sidelines of football games as both of my parents coached football and cheerleading, respectively. I found my passion watching and learning the game of football. I credit my passion for the sport to my father, who began traveling with me to Detroit Lions Youth Football camps and volunteering with the program to gain experience and learn just what I wanted to do. I received my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (AACSB-accredited) degree, majoring in Sport Management, from Ohio Northern University in 2023. I went on to receive my Master of Science in Recreation Sciences degree, concentration in Sport Management, from East Carolina University in December 2025.
