ABOUT TARYN PAINTER
I\'m a higher-ed professional who enjoys supporting students on their learning journeys. I currently serve as the University Scholars Program Coordinator at the Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships (CURF) at the University of Pennsylvania. In this role, I manage the program’s admissions and research funding application processes, organize student events and research talks, and advise scholars as they pursue independent, curiosity-driven projects.Previously, I worked as a Site Coordinator with the Netter Center for Community Partnerships at Penn and completed an AmeriCorps year of service as a Student Success Coach at City Year Philadelphia. Through one-on-one and small-group support, I worked with high school students from the School District of Philadelphia to develop key social-emotional skills, improve academic performance, and increase overall attendance and engagement, both in and out of school hours. Outside of work, I am a student at the University of Pennsylvania\'s School of Social Policy and Practice (SP2), working towards my Master of Science in Social Policy. I am a proud first-generation graduate of the Honors College and College of Liberal Arts at Towson University, where I studied history, political science, and human rights with a particular interest in migration and statelessness. In my downtime, I enjoy reading books of all genres, indoor cycling, the marching arts, and watching NHL games (Go Canes!) and MLB games (Go Phillies!).
