About Tariq Jarrah

One thing I am passionate about is learning new things and improving upon myself. I am seeking an opportunity to expand my knowledge in order to further my education in the real world. This will allow me to learn about myself as well as learn about the applications of electrical engineering in the real world, and ultimately helping me gain experience. The possibilities are endless and I look forward to any opportunity to become a better electrical engineer. My tasks and duties have varied over the last five and a half years at Air Products. When I started my career, I mainly performed sizing, calculations, and specifications for low voltage equipment. These responsibilities increased over time to where I began performing extensive power systems analysis including short circuit studies, motor starting calculations, voltage drop calculations, etc. This led to specification and design for HV & MV equipment, attending vendor factory acceptance testing for electrical equipment (motors, switchgears, motor control centers, etc.) as well as protection and coordination studies in order for me to complete the arc flash studies and print the arc flash labels for the site team. These tasks were completed with me shadowing the lead electrical PE. By this year, I have taken the lead on 4 projects - one of which includes & Synchronous motors. I attended the site for motor start up and supported the electrical commissioning team in programming the SEL-710 relays to start these motors direct-online. I have also developed a job aid for PDC FATs and I am responsible for training engineers in our group for these FATs. With all of this experience, I was able to obtain my PE in Electrical Power Engineering.
