My work with IREX is focused on open-source content monitoring, evaluating, and analyzing news, non-news programming and media content of Radio & TV stations and online news media.This includes providing evaluative reports using templates that detect and gather data on media landscapes and top media channels in the Middle East. In addition, I provided technical, quantitative, and qualitative monitoring to evaluate media content and to run in-depth analysis using professional criteria, providing a broad objective assessment and examples of successes, challenges and lessons learned. Criteria include impartiality, sourcing, clarity, context, format, style, appeal, balance, accuracy, diversity, relevance, and many other things. For almost 3 years, I gained valuable experience and better understanding of different media outlets in the Middle East and how they are operated. Developing and supporting media outlets in the Arab World has never been an easy task due to the fragile situation and the tense atmosphere allover the region. However, success was noticeable enough by improving all media outlets reviewed to a better performance and more professional posture.
