ABOUT TAREK MAMDOUH SALEM

Senior technology leader with 20+ years of experience in software industry. I am currently head of technology for Shopping Experience org for Amazon MENA and Turkey. My role is to build and grow tech teams that define and execute multi years roadmap to improve Shopping Experience for millions of Amazon customers in the region. My teams are geographically distributed across 4 different countries and includes 3+ different tech roles. During my tenure in Amazon, I conducted hundreds of interviews, fostered the growth and promotion of many tech leaders, and gave back to the community through tech talks and other knowledge sharing forums. Prior to Amazon, I led software client facing engineering teams to deliver large-scale programs and innovative product implementations across diverse industries, including Payment, Telecommunication, Industrial IoT, and E-Commerce. My extensive background includes leadership roles in both product and service organizations, fostering excellence in a diverse environment with geographically and culturally varied teams, clients, co-workers, and vendors across the USA, Canada, Middle East, and Europe.
