Lead UP’s system-wide Field Operations team and work with 100+ contractors responsible for environmental compliance and the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations of UP’s fuel & oil infrastructure, industrial water treatment operations, and associated systems routine maintenance- Help identify and prioritize field projects that lead to multi-million dollars engineering projects. Partner with the Capital Team throughout the construction phases to ensure a fully operational and compliant plant- Provide financial control oversight of our team’s annual operational expense budget- Participate in talent acquisition projects with HR, conduct interviews, and lead negotiations to hire the top candidates- Coach employees on their career path and help mentor UP’s Leadership Development Program participants- Set goals and key performance measures for the team (safety, compliance, and reliability)- Implement an Operations Incident Report requirement to identify root cause (vs. symptom) and generate a corrective action plan and share the lessons learned with the rest of the team- Direct and coach on Continuous Improvement tools (8 Steps Problem Solving, Go-N-See, Visual Management, VSM, 5S, Leader Standard Work, and Standard Work) to elevate all aspects of the business- Direct the development of criteria and standard work for UP & contract operators to sustain all aspects of the operation (reporting, execution, budgeting).
