About Tara Wilson

I\'ve always been a data enthusiast. Some of my earliest memories are watching baseball (Go Mariners!) with my dad and trying to calculate how much an extra hit would alter a player\'s batting average. I am grateful that this passion for information and statistics became something I am able to make a career out of. I graduated from the University of Washington in 2018 with Bachelors of Science in both Informatics and Oceanography. Through the Informatics program, I learned how to code, but more importantly I learned the skills of project management, design thinking, and the ethics of data. The Oceanography program gave me an opportunity to apply these skills on vast amounts of previously unexplored data. I enjoyed this nexus of data and technology and decided to return and pursue my Masters of Science in Data Science, which I completed back at UW in March of 2021. I was so fortunate to have been on this higher education journey while employed at Liberty Mutual where I was able to transition from a software development role to one as a data scientist. An avid learner, I love the constant challenge of being a data problem solver and am eager to continue discovering new technologies and information solutions.If you cannot find me in my home office or exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest, chances are I am somewhere cozy enjoying a good book, learning Spanish, taking pictures, or watching sports. I am a naturally curious person and am constantly on a quest to see what the world has to offer so feel free to reach out!
