She is an expert in land use planning and development, real property assessment and taxation, and municipal law matters. Tara regularly provide strategic advice, counsel and support to property owners, including public and private developers. She is has extensive experience securing land development approvals, including settling official plan amendments, zoning bylaw amendments and a variety of other development agreements. Tara is also experienced in the area of expropriations, Ontario\'s Retail Business Holidays Act, payments-in-lieu of taxes, ground rent arbitrations and property tax recharge disputes. She has appeared before various courts, tribunals, panels, boards and committees of adjustment and council on various municipal, assessment, taxation and land development matters.Tara is a partner in the Planning, Development & Condominium specialty group at Miller Thomson LLP. In 2018 she became the first Canadian President of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network and was recognized as the 67th CREW Foundation Visionary. Tara was the 2014 Past President of Toronto CREW, a chapter within CREW Network and she is a member of the Urban Land Institute’s Women’s Leadership Initiative Toronto Championship Team. She is the co-author for the Taxation (General) chapter of Halsbury\'s Laws of Canada and she is recognized by Chambers Canada, The Best Lawyers in Canada and the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.
