ABOUT TARA SINGLETON
Tara Singleton is a Registered Dental Technologist (RDT) and Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with nearly two decades of experience spanning chairside care, laboratory production, digital dentistry innovation, education, and regulation. From the beginning of her career, Tara focused on bridging clinical and laboratory workflows. She built advanced expertise in orthodontics, adult neuromuscular dentistry, and pediatric airway-focused care, developing a strong foundation in occlusion, radiographic interpretation, function, growth, airway, and myofunctional approaches. This systems-based understanding shaped her work across restorative, orthodontic, and implant-driven cases.Tara entered digital dentistry early, working hands-on with emerging CAD/CAM and intraoral scanning technologies as they were introduced into clinical practice. In 2013, she founded My Lab, becoming Canada’s first E4D-certified dental laboratory and one of the country’s earliest fully digital labs.Recognized for her ability to translate digital technology into real-world clinical workflows, Tara was engaged by Henry Schein as the first external clinical integrator to connect two independent digital platforms—E4D and iTero. She led the first-ever global clinical integration linking intraoral scanning with chairside and laboratory restorative workflows, at a time when these systems had never been connected in live clinical environments. In 2019, My Lab was acquired by Universal Dental Laboratories as part of a strategic initiative to transition from conventional to advanced digital production. Tara joined the organization to help lead that transformation, bridging traditional craftsmanship with scalable digital workflows.Following her leadership in digital innovation, Tara served four years as Vice President of the College of Dental Technologists of Alberta. She was brought in as an Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Subject Matter Expert to modernize standards across disciplines, collaborating with dental hygiene, assisting, and denturism. Tara authored and built a comprehensive IPC education program through NAIT Continuing Education, which she continues to facilitate today. She also holds inspector qualifications, bringing inspection-level regulatory insight grounded in real-world practice.Today, Tara is a Sales Engineer with Dandy, combining clinical depth, digital integration expertise, and regulatory fluency to support scalable, compliant digital dentistry. This profile highlights select milestones within a broader body of clinical, digital, and regulatory work.
