ABOUT TARA LEREW
I have been a nurse since 2002 at Harborview Medical Center. I am passionate about our mission to care for the underserved members of our community. I was at the bedside as an ortho trauma nurse for 12 years and during that time was a charge RN, preceptor, and assistant nurse manager. I became the Nurse Manager of the Burn,Plastic and Pediatric trauma acute care unit in 2013. We are the only level one burn and pediatric trauma hospital in our WAMI region. It\'s an honor to lead a team of smart, empathetic and kind people in providing the best care possible to the diverse population we serve. My core values as a leader is to serve my team and ensure that their success is my primary goal. I seek to listen to understand and to create a place where staff and patients feel safe. My guiding principle is to create an atmosphere where we establish trust within the team and with our patients. I am excited to return to school at WGU this year (2024) to complete my Master in Nursing Leadership and Management degree. I anticipate completion in January of 2025.
