ABOUT TARA LAMSAL
I am a Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng MICE) with over 25 years of experience in the UK and internationally, specialising in the design, assessment, and delivery of highway and railway structures. I currently serve as Principal Engineer and Structures Manager at Birmingham office, where I lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing both technical and managerial leadership across a diverse portfolio of projects. My role includes overall responsibility for structures discipline delivery, resource management, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement.I have extensive experience acting as Design Team Leader, CRE (Design) and Technical Approval Authority (TAA), overseeing the delivery of complex infrastructure schemes in accordance with DMRB, Network Rail standards, and CDM regulations. I am also a qualified Principal Designer under CDM 2015.My expertise covers reinforced and prestressed concrete, steel, and composite structures, including bridge design, assessment, strengthening & refurbishment and building design. I am highly experienced in managing key approval processes including working closely with National Highways, Network Rail, Transport Scotland, and local authorities.I have led and delivered schemes across major national programmes including Smart Motorways, Transpennine Route Upgrade, and Midlands Highways Alliance frameworks, consistently ensuring safe, efficient, and buildable solutions. Alongside my professional role, I am actively involved in property investment and development, focusing on residential acquisitions, refurbishment, and land-led opportunities with an emphasis on long-term value creation.
