ABOUT TARA HASKELL

Experienced nursing leader and educator specializing in pediatrics, simulation, global health, and transition-to-practice education. I currently serve as Manager of the New Graduate Nurse Residency Program at Children’s Hospital Colorado, leading CCNE-aligned residency programming focused on nurse development, well-being, and retention.In this role, I oversee system-wide residency programming across multiple cohorts and sites, manage and mentor a team of professional development educators, and collaborate closely with clinical leaders, HR, and academic partners. Through data-driven evaluation, continuous improvement, and human-centered leadership, the program consistently achieves an annual one-year retention above 90%, reflecting a strong emphasis on support, engagement, and professional growth during the transition to practice.Alongside my healthcare leadership work, I continue to teach online MSN-level nursing courses. I bring extensive experience in curriculum development, assessment design, and program evaluation for adult learners, with student outcomes consistently exceeding national benchmarks on standardized evaluations at the ADN, RN–BSN, BSN, and MSN program levels.
