ABOUT TARA GRAY
As a first-generation Indigenous (Ahtna Athabascan) college graduate, I found myself drawn to community engagement, indigenous advocacy, policy advocacy, health and rights. Through these endeavors, I\'ve acquired knowledge in policy, community building, public speaking (Cultural Humility and Education, MMIP, Policy), and partnership strategies. I have had the privilege to serve as the secretary chair on the Urban Indian Health Board of Directors for South Dakota and actively participate in Social Justice Organizations.My advocacy has extended beyond organizational walls into the political arena to amplify priorities in support of critical legislation. With a strong belief that change begins both at the grassroots and in the halls of government to continue to be a bridge between communities and policymakers.In my past roles, I have successfully built and lead campus wide curriculum and programs for culture, substance-abuse and mental health. Continuing my commitment, I collaborate with numerous entities to advance wellbeing, social justice, and uphold indigenous rights. Engaged in multiple subcommittees and advisory roles, my dedication lies in fostering education and empowering marginalized communities.I thrive on building connections, so please don\'t hesitate to reach out if you believe my involvement could benefit your organization, whether through events, speaking, guidance, or outreach initiatives.
